I have been working in my company for more than five years. I will not disclose what my work is and what company I am working for but all I can say is that I am required to sit in front of the computer for long hours. Some may think that it is such an easy job, but believe me, it is not. Aside from having problems with my eyes, I have developed another problem in my body because of this lifestyle I lead. What problem do I have now? Well, read on.

After years of being stuck in my office chair, I have developed back aches that really hampered my work performance. At first it was tolerable but it came to a point where I needed to drink pain relievers to ease the pain. When I went to a doctor, he told me that my back is suffering from a lot of stress due to my long hours of sitting. In the end, he suggested that I exercise and buy lumbar support pillows for my office chair. Since then, my back pains have lessened and I finally feel better and healthier!

With my first child on the way, one of the disadvantages of having a sensitive pregnancy is the difficulty in sleeping. Aside from the regular throwing up and nausea, I still feel pretty tired even after long hours of sleep. I can’t wait to have this baby delivered!

Back in 2005, my family and I moved to an Asian country because my father was assigned to head the production of a new branch of the company. So, we all moved and put most of our things in storage. Of course, I was a teenager back then and hated the idea of leaving all my friends behind but I kept my mouth shut and adapted.

At first, the move was devastating! All company lodging arrangements did not fall through. We had to spend more than a week in a cheap motel and I was scared stiff with all the people who kept staring at us like as if we were aliens! Aside from this, it was so hot! I’m used to the cool weather in our country but, in Asia, it was really amazingly hot! Eventually, my family and I got used to the country and studied their culture. It was probably the best time I’ve had. Everything else was a lot cheaper which is a plus. Once you got to know the locals, they’re a very hospitable bunch and I’ve made some true friends. I may never be able to use my comforter goose pillows unless in an airconditioned room but everything else was almost perfect. It almost felt like home.
